The Pandemic Times: A Blog
THE
PANDEMIC TIMES: A BLOG
You see, there are times
when human civilization is experiencing joie de vivre, progressive
advancements and a whole lot of efficiency in terms of character. Then there
are times when humans are absolutely impoverished, disoriented, and on the
verge of total catastrophe. These times are somewhat like the latter. The
pandemic times are ones to be forgotten. This year has been stinking bad…
absolutely, out of the world bad. We have not been able to go out freely. The
human nature itself has been put to test in these trying moments. I mean… how
can you expect someone to stay put inside his house for a very long period of
time. We’re people, after all, not some unconscionable, domesticated animals!
In my case, it was like
you had stepped into the underworld with some punishment, a mouthful of
boredom. I have been feeling bored for most duration of the pandemic since it’s
conception. I haven’t felt this bored since the time when I had to go to some
grocery store with my mom (The only exciting thing there is when you get the
chance to make your own shopping list and fetch those items).
Now, the situation is
like a rollercoaster. Sometimes, the viral cases decrease abruptly, and the
next day, the number of cases sky rocket out of the charts (if you know what I
mean here). But nevertheless, life’s not great in this scenario. I am enervated
of this continuous rollercoaster-like situation and hope that one day, this
virus gets a run for its money.
Being inside my house for
such a long time is excruciatingly annoying. The irony is that we seek to
return to our homes after going out for some important work. In my case, it
felt like I was being punished in the eternal fields of damnation for no apparent
reason.
But recently, I finally
got to get some fun. Some sports academies were opening in different schools,
strictly following the COVID 19 protocols. I was on cloud nine! I thought that
now I had some shot at staying fit during these challenging times and play some
sports when all I was doing was studies.
For me, these times were
full of lessons. I learned to support my mom. I learned to help her when she
needed it the most. I learned patience to wait for the right opportunities and
the right time to do things. This pandemic-even though it has taken a lot of
lives and scarred numerous ones on the way-has made us respect our environment.
Sometimes I feel that Mother Nature sent this deadly armada of viruses to teach
us a lesson.
I just pray that soon we
will get to walk on a better, greener and healthier planet and this COVID 19
gets eradicated from the face of humankind. A very safe and happy new year to
you all.
